With the help of our partners some of the expensive Oneida Community Mansion House archive is available online. These digital repositories represent the largest collection of publicly available resources about the Oneida Community, Oneida Ltd., the Oneida Community Mansion House and beyond.

New York Heritage holds the Stephen R. Leonard Photographic Collection that gives a snapshot into life at the Mansion House, Sherrill, and Oneida Community, Limited from 1881-1935; a collection of artifacts that examine women and gender in the Oneida Community and Oneida Ltd.; as well as a complete set of The Quadrangle which documents life both at the Mansion House and around the world from 1908 to 1938.

Hamilton College’s Burke Library has digitized part of OCMH’s collection of architectural drawings and plans from 1862 until the mid-20th century; a full run of the Daily Journal, which is a day by day account of life in the Oneida Community from 1866-1868; the Oneida Community's weekly newspaper, The American Socialist from 1876-1879; and Milford J. Newhouse’s sketchbook of everyday scenes of Community Life; and an inventory of the Oneida Community’s Library.

Syracuse University’s Special Collections Research Center is the main archival repository for the Oneida Community. Though most of the collection is only available in person, the finding aid and select photographic collections are available online.

Many thanks to the Central New York Library Resources Council, Hamilton College, New York Heritage, and Syracuse University for their support and assistance with these projects.
