ARMISTICE: A Pageant In Voices
On the centenary of the Armistice that ended the war to end all wars on November 11, 1918, Oneida Public Library in collaboration with the Oneida Community Mansion House presents on November 11, 2018, at 2:00 pm in the Big Hall of the Mansion House a readers theater production with music of "Armistice: A Pageant in Voices." The play, composed of local newspaper accounts and letters, tells the tales of Madison County folk caught up in the American war effort of 1917-1918. "Armistice" also presents the popular music of the time that was composed as morale boosters for the folks at home and the soldiers at the Western Front. The cast includes Adam Chandler, Ken Drake, Virginia Drake, Tom Murray, soprano Sarah Davies Hasegawa and Melinda Phoenix-Heart at the piano. The script is by Tom Murray; the music arranged by Melinda Phoenix-Heart. Admission to the play is $5.00 per adult as a donation to the O.C. Mansion House. The production is supported by a Community Arts grant from CNY Arts.
